So, I've owned this program for a couple of years now and from what I've read its every bit as good as Photoshop. While my experience with photoshop is limited, this program is super user friendly... I'd say if you spend a minimum of 5 hours with it you completely understand how to navigate it and produce pretty much any effect. Over the coming posts I'll put up some of my
best practices but mind you its been awhile and I even picked up the "For Dummy's" book to make sure I know about every feature that might be hiding. I probably spend an hour a day watching youtube videos on it as well. In any case, it's now called
Clip Studio Paint Pro and is available for around $40 (for the non professional edition). You could probably get away with using free art software like GIMP but if you intend to stick with the hobby this program is well worth it.
